The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential video game developer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a motorway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This is a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
