The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Selected the Wrong Popular RPG Show Track

This latest animated series, the most recent animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new introductory sequence. It showcases our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and criminals fighting hard and taking names, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching backstories for characters including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

All in all, the opening looks amazing. However, I felt that an element was lost in the song choice.

This sequence employs "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar composition composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release put out by the production company's music division their music brand. It's a great nostalgic option, and I believe that devotees of the second campaign will love its inclusion.

Personally, The series' opening doesn't quite capture the hype and excitement that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it improved further when co-founder the performer wrote words to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018.

Including singing from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the song was catchy and fun. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you start an installment of fantasy hijinks.

The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's an impressive composition, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the series will have a few changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening appears as one of them.
