Slot Maintains He Is Secure and Has Liverpool's Support After PSV Defeat

The Liverpool head coach conceded that it's expected for concerns to be asked about his future after another convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds endured their ninth loss in 12 matches, representing the team's worst streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were dominated by the Dutch league title holders on a punishing night at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, things are alright, I have got plenty of backing from management,” the coach stated.

“It would be great to turn it around and get a victory of course but when you're coaching a team and struggling then it's typical that people question you.”

He added, “I'm comfortable with my role. It is not the first time I've found myself in a difficult position but it's crucial that we improved our results.”

Discussions with Liverpool Hierarchy

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his discussions with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:

“We communicate frequently. They are supportive to the team and for me and we discuss these matters but they aren't calling me every single minute each day to say they back me.”

He further stated, “In the normal discussions I sense the trust. However I've not talked to them after this defeat so far so it remains to be seen.”

Familiar Problems and Player Response

Slot highlighted recurring failings from his team in their European loss, specifically wasted chances and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was blunter in his assessment of the club’s predicament.

“I don’t have the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to all,” the midfielder remarked.

“It is not good enough. I don't have to wait to consider it. I’m past getting mad internally. I've reached the stage now where I just don’t have the phrases.”
