Rugby league's governing body has declared that participants who sign with the “rebel” R360 competition will be banned for a decade.

The proposed competition, which plans to launch in 2026, is hoping to draw athletes from both codes with hefty contracts and a reduced game calendar.

Leading NRL stars have reportedly been approached by the new league, which will involve six or eight men's clubs and women's teams located in large metropolitan areas worldwide.

The Samoan the player, who plays for New Zealand Warriors in the league, has confirmed he has had negotiations involving the new organization.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Payne Haas and Gray are also reported to be weighing up offers from the new competition.

A group of union countries, such as Australia, recently imposed a restriction on players joining R360 playing international matches.

“We've listened to our clubs and we've responded strongly,” stated ARLC chief the official.

“Sadly, there will continually be entities that attempt to hijack our game for economic benefit.

“They avoid funding in development systems or the advancement of talent. They merely capitalize on the dedication of existing bodies, jeopardizing careers of financial loss while profiting themselves.

“Essentially, they are, copying the game.”

R360 is launched by former England World Cup winner Tindall and supported by private investors.

Following the possible rugby union prohibitions were declared last week, it stated: “We want to work in partnership as part of the international rugby schedule.

“The series is structured with bespoke schedules for both genders and we will allow all athletes for global fixtures, as included in their contracts.”

R360 will request authorization for its initiatives from the international authority, rugby union's administrative organization, at its council meeting in the coming year.
