Performer Rejects Anti-Vaccine Views After Lending His Voice To Controversial Coronavirus Film

The acclaimed actor has given his voice to a feature-length documentary that questions the safety of vaccinations and praises one-time cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Disputed Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a popular book published by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was a result of a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.

The publication's collaborator, a producer, has also written books with far-right figure Alex Jones. He wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.

A Strong Denial

The team of Liam Neeson have released a response pushing back against claims that he holds anti-immunization beliefs.

"Many recognize that unethical practices can exist within the medical sector, but that should never be conflated with being against vaccines," the statement reads. "Neeson is not, and is not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the global charity underscores his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

It continued that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's messaging and that concerns about its content ought to go to the creators.

Central Themes Featured in the Documentary

In the film, the narration read by Neeson features several provocative points:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "science has become dangerously politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • It further attacks Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it mentions a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Previous Context and Current Disputes

The documentary includes a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the network for violations of guidelines.

Last month, RFK Jr directed the Centers for Disease Control to change its longstanding position that there is no link between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, even with a recent study from the global health body reiterating no connection has been found.

A Past Record of Endorsement

Contrasting the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

The film finishes with Neeson's narration stating, "This marks not the finish of our journey. It is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
