Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a former physician now faces charges for performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

The Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Charges

The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
