Devoted supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who breached a fence and seized the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A circulating video reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a promenade surrounded by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being detained", though court documents showed that he was set to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.

History of Disruptions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account contains clips of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is evidently a legal violation," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user questioned.

Followers Voice Worry Over Grande's Well-being

Many supporters criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another response on Instagram.

A number of supporters also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested online networks to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Hundreds of supporters had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore venue, including several who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the acclaimed theatrical show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising friendship between two very different witches.

The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a rosé glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of the previous year in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, earning several for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
